Ferrocerium rods are made from a special alloy that causes sparking when scraped with a blade.  The action causes small bits of metal to come off and ignite.  This means the rods will wear away some metal every time they are scraped, so it's a good idea to have some extras on hand.  These rods are specially made to fit in the ToolFob and stow into the central hole
