BASE UNIT
The base is all steel construction comprised primarily of 3/16" and 11 gauge formed steel. The front of the base measures 30" across, base length shall be 48" front to back. The ballast area (ballast not included) shall be designed to accept (10) 4"x 8"x 16" solid cement blocks each weighing 30 lbs. (300 lbs. total). The unit rides on three 4" non-marking wheels for easy "one person" portability. The front wheel can be lowered to the floor as the vertical post pivots backward. The vertical post pivots backward by means of a "Post Actuator" mounted on the portable base. The pivoting post allows unit to move under any standard-height doorway.
EXTENSION ARM
Adjustable extension arms are constructed of dual 2" x 2" tubing. Extension allows for a minimum 24" from front of post to face of backboard with rim at 10' playing height. The height adjustment crank cylinder has a minimum 2000# capacity rating. Pole structure design allows for rim height to be adjusted infinitely from 10' down to 6 ½'. Two springs mounted in the extension assembly are included to minimize the amount of effort required to adjust the goal height when raising or lowering the unit. Pole design permits the rim to be mounted directly to the extension arm through the backboard so as to reduce stress on the backboard. An easy-to-read height adjustment label registers rim height.
VERTICAL UPRIGHT
Vertical pole is a one-piece 4" square with a minimum 11 gauge wall thickness. Posts with thinner wall thickness are not considered equal. Post is secured to a portable base by means of two 4" square zinc-plated U-bolts. Pole has a watertight vinyl cap to seal out moisture.
UPRIGHT PADDING
Unit is equipped with standard 2” thick foam padding. Padding is secured via velcro straps. Padding doesn't need to be removed during folding adjustment, transportation or storage. Colors are available.
BACKBOARD
Constructed of 1/4” thick smoked tempered glass with bright white markings. The framework is constructed from clear anodized aluminum “L” type extrusions.
RIM
Flexible rim absorbs the stress of player contact. Nylon net included. 5/8" diameter.
